We'll handle this (tar?) baby with kid gloves. I can be a gentle man. That's really what's happening my friends, big babies with big guns and bombs. Let's play war! Us against them! Except the blood is real. Kid gloves a la Mac the Knife then.
1 Your statement that Israelis think another group is subhuman has no basis in fact.
This was not the entirety of my statement. More completely it was that behaviors in Israel based on the tri-partite crock of Abrahamic bullshit exhibit said crock's failure to support ethics. The structure of the paragraph is pretty clear and I do not single out Israelis, Palestinians, Lebanese, Hezbollah, Iran or Hamas for that matter. The fact is some Israelis do consider other humans of lesser value than themselves, I can cite if anyone feels that's really necessary, but probably all the parties there have members who feel the same about others. About members of their 'own' even. I'm still not over Cain's Field. I find some of it disagreeable but I don't call Rees a liar. If one believes this situation is simple one only has to read more.
2 For the past 60 years we have been at war off and on with 22 Muslim nations.
What does this mean exactly? Sounds a bit like thoughtless regurgitation of PR spiel. This sentence is woefully short on facts and a bit long on hand-wringing. Please feel free to cite, it's edifying: 1948 Arab-Israeli War, Suez Crisis, Six-Day War, War of Attrition, Yom Kippur War, 1982 Lebanon War, 2006 Lebanon War, what am I missing? Now let's see if I can find 22 'Muslim' nations: um... were 'you' ever at war with Turkey? Because I'm having a hard time finding 22 Islamic governments on Earth. Check out the CIA Factbook. Help me out here. What is being referred to? Nations with Muslim populations? Israel has a Muslim population. Please be specific if possible. In case you just joined I'm not the sharpest tack in the box.
The sad fact is war is as old as history. It just developed a whole new flavor in the Middle East and then the West starting about 5000 years ago. The ideas that God chooses people or takes sides and that God gives presents are poisonous.
3 Many of these nations have financed terrorists to murder hundreds of our innocent civilians.
Merka was formed by terrorism against the Crown of England. How many died? The French helped finance it. Zionists engaged in acts that are, objectively, terrorist. They got paid for somehow. Crazy people in Iraq will probably continue their 'terrorism' for the foreseeable future. God help us if the morons march on Iran. 'Freedom fighters' get financed. Human beings who lack the martial strength to confront other human beings by whom they believe themselves to be oppressed militarily tend to 'murder innocent civilians'. And it's not that hard to find some fool to pay for it.
4 Over 20,000 Israelis have fallen to protect our religious and cultural freedoms our very lives.
Once again, great rhetoric. The absence of dialectic is unfortunate. I hope these sorts of statements do not pass for thought. These are real people, really dead. I am related to some of them myself. I can see why you choose to say it the way you do, however I can also see how the murders can be framed as resistance against an occupying force. Until all parties can be reasonable, and that means first and foremost checking God at the door, few will be able to understand how 'religious and cultural freedom' can equate to colonialism.
As far as 'our very lives' let me say something really shocking. Everything that lives dies. You are going to die. I am going to die. My dog is forever dying, long live my dog. Death isn't really the issue here, why do people make such a big deal about it? Murder is the issue. Another poisonous notion of judeochrislam is being with God after death. Wake up! You are with God now! Behave yourself!
Myself, I'm a little surprised I've lived this long with a mouth this big. I'll tell you this though, if 'you' don't have your shit together in 10 or 20 years when my kids are grown I'm going to walk over there and explain this to all of you face to face. Whether 'you' shoot me or 'the Muslims' saw my head off I'm sure God will approve.
5 Every day we suffer at least one unprovoked rocket attack.
Sheer sophistry. Unprovoked? 'You' are in a vendetta. 'You' are in a revenge cycle. And every time somebody has the good sense to say 'no more eye for an eye' another nutjob Rabbi or Imam rolls out the poisonousist (put THAT in your syntactical pipe and smoke it!) crap they can dig out of the sillytrilogy.
6 Last summer over 4,000 missiles from Lebanon drove 300,000 Israelis from their homes.
How many Israeli tanks drove how many Lebanese from their homes? Why waste time playing he said she said? How do we stop it? I read the papers (now there's a lie). But I do read ADL. And I also read Al Jazeera. I don't think anyone is 'lying'. People have a hard time accepting that their actions hurt other people. So they rationalize. One can ignore the pain which leads to schizophrenal compartmentalization or one can pretend that other humans are not which leads to fundamentalism.
7 Did we nuke the Hezbollah, the Lebanese who sheltered them or the Iranians who supplied them?
Sick, brother. How can you even say that? Merka is the only nation on Earth narcissistic enough to have used such an awful weapon. Don't even think it. 'Your' common sense in not wanting to poison the area ecosystem for thousands of years may have something to do with it too.
8 Although we were certainly within our rights to vaporize all of them, we chose not to do so.
'Within our rights?' WTF? Like 'your' 'right to exist'? When are people going to start talking about reality? No one has the 'right' to hurt anyone else. Anyone who thinks otherwise is FUCKING INSANE. It is not necessary to excuse my language. It may be necessary, if you disagree with the statement, to introspect why you believe that to be the case. If your answer has anything to do with God I submit that your conception of God is unworthy.
9 Why?
A rhetorical question I assume ;)
10 We respect human life even for those who attack us.
'Those who attack us'. Us and them. I'm happy to hear it's so simple. See I get all confused by Arabic Jews and Muslim Israelis and these Keystone Copts my eyes just kind of involuntarily roll whenever somebody in the region says 'us'. Your highschool class? Your bowling team?
Respect human life, ah yes. Please explain The Mossad to me. Lochamah Psichologit is a defensive organization? And the equivalent Arab organization is... ?
11 This quality distinguishes us from almost all other nations.
This is true. I grant that Israel's behavior under the circumstances is remarkably restrained. This reflects more influences than I can list (or know, I'm sure) but not least is the Torah and Rabbis who bother to interpret it ethically. I like Hilel a lot. I know many people think along these lines. I repeat, o ye atheists it is not necessary to stomp the crock to disintegration. It is probably not possible. And your feet will stink from the effort. Identify and address the actions that are abhorrent, the beliefs themselves can then hurt no one but the believer. Repeat the obvious until you are blue in the face. Then repeat it again.
Israel's behavior is distinguished. It is also terrible. If 'you' compare yourself to Sudan you're sweethearts. If 'you' compare yourself to the US you're about equivalently narcissistic, just endowed of fewer resources. If 'you' honestly compare yourself to other states in the region you're high par, just with bigger guns and a huge shoulderchip that's mostly metaphysical. If 'you' compare yourself to Finland it's not so flattering, is it? But you qualified so I think this is the one sentence I can't dissolve in logic. See, qualifiers are powerful. Qualifiers are important. Absolutes are absolutely wrong. Always, heheheh.
12 Stop lying about us.
I have only just begun. Surely you don't expect me to stop before I get called anti-semitic? Actually, don't expect me to stop until the behavior I am criticizing is modified or until someone kills me. I am thrilled at the progress I see. I still favor the odds of the latter.
In case nobody gets this yet, 'The Tri-partite Abrahamic Crock of Shit' is a comedy act. It's too bad I had to leave NY before it was funny enough to deliver in public; that was probably a good venue. But no crying over spilt milk, if I stop any blood being spilt it's worthwhile. The raw material is actually very funny. People killing people over books. Maybe my delivery sucks, I'm working on it. Funny as in absurd, mostly, but that is a legitimate form of humor. Reminds me of my last argument with Dad. Absurdism: how can such subjectively awful things be funny? My friends, there actually is an objective truth. There really is a reality. Just because our minds may never be able to grasp it, may in fact be designed not to grasp it, doesn't mean it isn't there. Making the effort should help one loosen up. I know that everything I know is wrong. Grin and bare it. The notion that God gives people land is hilarious. The idea that anyone ever really came back from death is ridiculous. And the notion that mass-murderers spend an eternity in paradise really should make you laugh. I'll never be as funny as Lenny Bruce but I'll bet I can be more deeply offensive if Faith is deep. I want to know why anyone is offended by disparate points of view. I am curious why more people do not find murder offensive. Stick with me and see if you don't get a chuckle. How much you wanna bet I laugh my head off?
As promised here is a sentence by sentence identification of fallacies:
1) Straw man
2) Faulty generalization and the beginning of a long affirmation of the consequent
3) Fallacy of distribution and continuing to build the A of C
4) Misleading vividness, bare assertion (no citation) and buuiiillddiinngg...
5) Another vivid bare assertion (unprovoked?)
6) Appeal to emotion, almost ready with that affirmation
7) Association fallacy, affirming
8) Bare assertion (within our rights?), there's the consequent on the horizon...
9) Why indeed? Perhaps I've been trolled by the ADL Dershowitz bot. Are you boxing with a clown?
10) The affirmation is complete, the consequent is delivered (proving all antecedents(?)) and it is wonderfully free of honest introspection
11) Can't fault that so much unless one mistakenly believes it supports the antecedent somehow
12) Some mutated subtly threatening straw man which at least gives the comment an overall structural symmetry. But so ridiculous I leave the pleasure of ridicule to the reader. Is the intent to shout me down? I am generally soft-spoken (if occasionally profane) and my message is so simple it's almost impossible to understand; don't bother, really. I doubt it helps 'your' cause to argue with loonies. It would be far more productive to kick blogster a coupla grand if I bug 'you' so much, sure they'd ban me if the price was right. Is the intent to educate me? More facts please! I know I am a fool and anyone who cares to listen learns that quickly. I do not assault Faith merely out of ill-will. Rather my tolerance for murder is low so I come to aim whatever little steel my wit may contain at what I see as one grand source of violent idiocy.
Anyone with an interest in logic, ethics and religion just has to put your second and tenth sentences next to each other for a most uncomfortable laugh. The first and eleventh harmonize charmingly too. Thanks again for the heckle!
